Gantt is located in Covington County, Alabama, approximately ten miles north of Andalusia. The city is home to approximately 241 residents, who enjoy the excellent schools, low crime, and beautiful seasonal weather that affords year-round enjoyment of the outstanding opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation found throughout the south-central Alabama region.

Gantt is served by the Covington County School District. The city is located within ten miles of L. B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia and within fifty miles of Troy University, a 4-year state university located in the city of Troy that is the flagship school of the Troy University system.

Gantt is located just five miles south of Gantt Lake, a 2,700-acre reservoir impoundment of the Conecuh River that flows along the western edge of the community. The lake is a popular destination for anglers and watersport enthusiasts, who can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and waterskiing, as well as picnicking and waterfront camping along the lake’s 21 miles of pristine shoreline.

Gantt is within striking distance of Lake Jackson, a 500-acre natural recreational lake located twenty miles southeast of the city. The lake is home to Florala State Park, a popular destination for anglers who enjoy its clean, clear waters and abundant populations of largemouth and smallmouth bass, white and black crappie, catfish, and bream.

Other nearby attractions include the Sweet Home Alabama Campground & RV Park, situated on Point A Lake just five miles south of town, and the Evans Barnes and Pine Lake golf courses, two excellent 9-hole golfing facilities located in the city of Andalusia.

Conveniently located on U.S. Route 29, just thirty-five miles east of Interstate 65 and sixty miles north of Interstate 10, Gantt is ideally situated for enjoying the great outdoors of south-central Alabama and the considerable amenities of the Florida Gulf Coast!
